Silence Is Treason - Self-Titled
Written by Adam A. Donaldson
If silence is treason, then these guys really are patriots. All kidding aside, Silence Is Treason's self-titled debut is an excellent mix of alt-rock and classic punk. The band's debut single "Radio Graffiti" exemplifies their skill as music makers; it's slick, hard-broiled and quick. Especially impressive is lead singer Omar's vocal contortions, he can go from harmony to wailing in a matter of micro-seconds. The band also has a strong sense of whimsy and social conscious as highlighted by the aforementioned "Radio Graffiti" and "A New American Century". There's even an instrumental track called "Lallibella", which gives band members Dominic and Donato_Roboto a chance to shine.
